From the Artist…

Happy Hour captures the energy of Australian coastal summers, including the warmth of late afternoons, tropical cocktails, vibrant colours, sticky air, and an atmosphere of total immersion in the moment. The piece examines how sensory experiences, such as heat on skin, tropical settings, music echoing from bars, and the luminous intensity of a sunset at the end of the day, become connected to memory and emotion.

The work depicts the thrill and intensity of summer as both a physical sensation and an emotional state, striking a balance between pleasure, nostalgia, and escapism.’

Long Afternoons

Long Afternoons examines rituals, connections, and short-lived experiences that mould our memories. Inspired by leisure, coastal culture, and modern femininity, the pieces depict familiar yet romanticised themes. The series explores connection, nostalgia, and the beauty of ordinary moments through vivid colour, expressive brushwork, and a playful visual language. When seen as a whole, these works honour the essence of lingering summer days and the memories that endure long after they are gone.

Charlotte is an emerging artist, based in Melbourne, Victoria, creating works from lived experience, memory, and the body. Her artworks are inspired by themes of intimacy, healing, and what it means to sit with difficult moments softly. As a young woman in today’s society, she creates with care, vulnerability, honesty, and tenderness — hoping to create a space for shared experience, comfort, gentle solidarity, and healing.
