‘On The Rocks was inspired by the iconic Torquay Hotel and the coastal culture surrounding it. Themes of location, memory, and coastal identity are explored, while drawing inspiration from long summer afternoons, coastal architecture, and the familiar places along Victoria’s Surf Coast. The piece celebrates the sentimentality and sense of community that local places may evoke by reimagining a well-known landmark with vibrant colour and a modern graphic language.’
