Acrylic on canvas.
110 × 80 cm.
(2026).
From the Artist…
‘Touch My Pearl. I Dare You.’ is situated between self-defence and seduction. Beneath layers of armour, the oyster becomes both a warning and an offering—something delicate, bright, and personal.
The struggle between wanting to be seen and fearing what intimacy might do to you is reflected in the piece. Like memory and emotion, water-like blues blend to create a surreal mood that is both peaceful and overwhelming. The pearl represents vulnerability that has evolved. It is fragile because it still yearns to be touched, but precious since it has been shielded.
The work examines physical intimacy as both desirable and dangerous, striking a balance between beauty and defensiveness.’
