From the Artist…
‘A photograph my parents took while travelling together before I was born became the inspiration for Cannon Ball. The scene turns into an imagined place of memory that is both familiar and unknown. Loose, expressive brushstrokes are used to depict figures suspended in water during times of calm and excitement. The painting explores inherited nostalgia, places we feel connected to through family stories and photographs rather than firsthand experience.’
